No, it’s not a typo. We’re not talking the Beach Boys here; we’re talking The Obama Boys.
Do you know what a serf is? In the middle ages, a serf was a type of slave who was attached to the land that belonged to a ruling class. The serf worked the land and was sold as part of the land package whenever there was a transfer of ownership.
The serf was semi-free. He and his family worked the landowner’s land in exchange for use of the land, but not ownership. Generally as a rule, the serf worked the Lord’s land three days a week and was able to work it the remaining four on his own behalf. In other words, three out of seven days belonged to his feudal Lord and four belonged to himself and his family. The attachment, obligations and privileges, were passed on from generation to generation.
Slavery is a condition of servitude where the person was owned by his or her master. Essentially, the serf was owned by the land.
In America, a major prohibition to the implementation of policies that allow economic and political conditions that create the equivalent of serfdom in the United States is institutionalized in the U.S. Constitution. That is the concept of Federalism. The very existence of independent sovereign States protects the ultimate right of free men and women as it allows them to vote with their feet. If you don’t like how one State operates, you can leave and find one that suits your preferences.
The ever expanding intrusion and micromanagement of economic and cultural life by an out of control Federal government is the facilitating agent for the emergence of feudalistic economic impediments to the American dream. If Liberals have their way, whether through overt Marxist usurpation of the type envisioned by Barack Obama, or through the incremental encroachment upon freedom through the abuse of pseudo science by environmentalists like Al Gore, the gradual and continuous and soon irreversible distinctions that give each State its unique role in the democratic experiment will be eradicated.
What this means is that the right to vote with our feet, to choose a different political climate will be unavailable and Americans will be serfs on American soil. The landowner will be the Federal Government and the elites who run it and the freedom to experiment, to pursue new and untried ideas will be swallowed up by the pervasive intrusion of the Lord’s of the Kingdom who will control every aspect of our lives through the use of legal coercion.
It is true that the free enterprise system, laissez faire economics, and capitalism are fraught with imperfections and abuse. This condition is not unique to free institutions. Greedy men and women infiltrate every type of political and economic power base. Evil can be found in every system that exists or has ever existed on the planet.
There are no pure men, including the messiah, Barack Obama. Perhaps especially Barack Obama as he has filed the fangs off his teeth to show a charming smile. He has proven himself to be a clever liar, a vampire who disdains the Constitution and the Free Enterprise System and who seeks to suck the freedom out of the American system.
The question becomes, is freedom desirable to you? Is coercion preferable? Does the average American even consider the distinctions?
If evil exists in any system, if greed and avarice pollute every human endeavor, and history proves that this is so, then why institutionalize coercion, the use of force, the bullying of the American people? If we have to put up with sleaze bag liars like Al Gore, then why let them use the law of the land as their weapon of choice to run our lives when the Constitution protects us from just that?
Why let the Feds take away our right to vote with our feet and move from State to State where we can impact policy with all of our voting freedoms? They have already eroded our right to vote with our money where we choose what we want or don’t want by purchasing it or not.
They are steadily allowing our ballot box vote to be corrupted and diluted by failing to enforce our immigration laws, by trivializing the shenanigans of outlaw agencies like Acorn, by allowing tampering with absentee ballots, by refusing to require identification to be certain that only citizens vote and that they only vote once, or even that they be alive when they vote.
As I have already indicated, they are taking away our right to vote with our feet by blurring the distinctions of the unique Constitutions of each State.
Note well, they have already begun trivializing our jury box vote where 12 American citizens can nullify even an act of Congress on an individual basis by simply refusing to convict if any law violates conscience. The ultimate power to validate any law lies with the people.
If a law is wrong or evil, our Constitution gives us the right on a case by case basis to refuse to enforce it. If you believe with a clear conscience that a law is morally wrong you have the right, even the duty to vote not guilty in the jury room. The government is powerless against this right as the Constitution forbids double jeopardy. The Founders took extraordinary steps to make sure that ultimate power resided with the people.
Tax freedom day, the day when Americans begin keeping the fruits of their own labor in 2009 is April 13th. In 1900, it was Jan 22. If budget deficits are included, tax freedom day is even further out. If unfunded liabilities were taken into account, it would be off the charts. We are on Hayek’s Road to Serfdom. If we do not stop the despots, tyrants and power mongers who have infiltrated our Federal apparatus, the kind of people who put together 2,000 page intrusive and obnoxious laws in backrooms without input from all concerned parties, we will lose our precious freedoms. The real inconvenient truth is the truth we find when we allow the facts of life in socialist and Marxist countries to be openly and honestly displayed.
We are all on the verge of going “Serfing USA”. There is a revolution brewing. Thank God the Founders provided the means for bloodless revolutions. And if we should accidently allow deceivers to infiltrate, despots in patriot’s garb, then, in 2012 we will flush those turds down the toilet with all the other tyrants.
