COPENHAGEN – HYPOCRISY, INTIMIDATION, COST AND PUBLIC OPINION
By Dr. Rick Scarborough December 09, 2009

With the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit about to begin, a few observations are in order:

  • Fewer and fewer people believe in the myth of manmade global warming. The latest Harris Poll – taken before the Climate-gate revelations – shows that now fewer than 51% of Americans believe in what its proponents insist is scientific fact – down from 75% in 2001 and 71% in 2007. Not that public opinion matters to elites. (Despite the continuing drop in support for Obama-care, Congress seems determined to force it on us.) (more…)

If ‘Public Option’ Stands, Senators Say They’ll Block A Vote on Health Care Bill

Monday, December 7th, 2009

By Penny Starr

(CNSNews.com) – Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) repeated their opposition to a “public option” in a final Senate health care bill when CNSNews.com asked if there were any circumstances in which they would vote for cloture on the bill if it includes a government-run insurance program. (Cloture means debate on a bill must end and the legislation is voted upon.)

“I cannot see one for this reason,” Lieberman said. “This is a good bill in many ways, and it achieves what I have always believed – for the years I’ve been working for health care reform – are the main purposes for health care reform: to begin to contain and control the never-ending increases of the cost of health care; to extend coverage by enabling millions of people who can’t afford health insurance to have health insurance; and to regulate the insurance companies so they treat consumers better.”

Obama Ignores ‘Climate-Gate’ in Revising Copenhagen Plans

Monday, December 7th, 2009

By Fox News

The scandal has prompted calls for Obama from global warming skeptics to skip this month’s climate summit in Copenhagen — instead, the White House is doubling down on its commitment

The controversy swirling around the leaked e-mails of climate scientists apparently trying to downplay data and exclude dissenting opinions has led to calls for President Obama to skip this month’s climate summit in Denmark until the e-mails can be investigated.

Instead, the White House announced Friday that Obama was doubling down on his commitment to the summit’s goals and moving his visit later in the month, hoping it will secure a “meaningful” agreement.

‘Hope and Change’ Through Lies

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

By Christopher G. Adamo

Outrage over the suppressed data refuting “global warming” at the East Anglia Institute in England, now spans the world. Though as a result of a liberal media “blackout,” news of the event currently remains primarily confined among the intellectually honest participants in the climate debate. Nevertheless, with each passing day, ever increasing numbers of common citizens are realizing that every aspect of their lives, from the nature of the vehicles they own to the type of lighting that will be “allowed” them by their beneficent government, is being dictated by a hoax bearing no more substance than the “Bermuda Triangle.”

BEWARE OF COPENHAGEN – GLOBAL WARMING A PRETEXT FOR GLOBAL GOVERNMENT
By Dr. Rick Scarborough December 01, 2009

As time goes by, more and more doubt is cast on the theory of man-made global warming, which the left treats as incontrovertible fact. To date, more than 31,000 scientists have signed a petition declaring that there is no conclusive evidence that the earth is getting warmer due to CO2 emissions from automobiles and industry.

Recently, a hacker exposed a scheme by pro-global warming researchers to hide studies that contradict the theory. The Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom is one of the most influential climate-change crusaders. Its research regularly shows up in reports of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Health bills fail to block illegals from coverage

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

By Stephen Dinan

Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants could receive health care coverage from their employers under the bills winding their way through Congress, despite President Obama’s explicit pledge that illegal immigrants would not benefit.

The House bill mandates, and the Senate bill strongly encourages, businesses to extend health care coverage to all employees. But the bills do not have exemptions to screen out illegal immigrants, who usually obtain jobs by using false identities and are indistinguishable from legal workers.

A rough estimate by the Center for Immigration Studies suggests that the practical effect of the mandates would be that about 1 million illegal immigrants could obtain health insurance coverage through their employers.

HHS would become federal giant under Senate plan

Monday, November 30th, 2009

By Susan Ferrechio – Washington Examiner

A quick search of the Senate health bill will bring up “secretary” 2,500 times.

That’s because Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius would be awarded unprecedented new powers under the proposal, including the authority to decide what medical care should be covered by insurers as well as the terms and conditions of coverage and who should receive it.

“The legislation lists 1,697 times where the secretary of health and humans services is given the authority to create, determine or define things in the bill,” said Devon Herrick, a health care expert at the National Center for Policy Analysis.

For instance, on Page 122 of the 2,079-page bill, the secretary is given the power to establish “the basic per enrollee, per month cost, determined on average actuarial basis, for including coverage under a qualified health care plan.”

Obama’s Killing Time

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Four more US Soldiers died in Afghanistan yesterday as we continued to wait anxiously for Obama to make up his mind about how to respond to General McChrystal’s report. During the pre-surge days in Iraq, 4 dead soldiers was enough for every major news outlet to scream from the rooftops about the costs of war. Now? Hardly a whisper.

Why is it so hard, Mr. President, to DO something about Afghanistan-even if you have to adjust your strategy again later-given that doing NOTHING has only gained you more fallen heroes? Since taking office, YOUR casualty count is nearly DOUBLE that of George Bush’s worst year as Commander in Chief. Why? Since receiving McChrystal’s assessment back in late August, your casualty count is rapidly approaching half of the entire year’s total. Again, Mr. President, WHY?

AMERICA TAKES ONE MORE STEP TOWARD SOCIALISM – SENATE VOTES TO BRING HEALTHCARE BILL UP FOR DEBATE
By Dr. Rick Scarborough November 24, 2009

Obama-Care passed another perilous milestone Saturday evening when — on a strictly partisan vote (without one Republican supporting the measure) — the Senate voted to bring H.R. 3590, the federal takeover of U.S. health care, to the floor for amendment and debate.
